On December 16, 1990 a precious baby boy, Jaleel De'Shawn Perkins, was born to Shawn Patrick Perkins and Shaneka D'vette Greene (Brokenbrough) in Newark, Delaware. Jaleel was raised along with his siblings in New Castle, Delaware. His grandmother, Gwendolyn Tolliver, aka "Mom Mom", played an important role in raising him.
Jaleel graduated from William Penn High School in 2009. He was on the Varsity Football team. He attended Valley Forge Military College and Erie Community College. He also played Semi Pro football for the Wilmington Wolfpack Football team.
Jaleel had a big heart and would do anything to help anyone. He loved Basketball and Football and loved hanging out with his friends. But what was most dearest to his heart was his son Jaleel De'Shawn Perkins Jr, "Fats" as he would call him. Jaleel was full of life, always had jokes and had an infectious smile. His ability to converse with anyone that crossed his path demonstrated his love for people.
