William Henry Fassett, Jr.

William H Fassett was born on October 11, 1966 and departed this life peacefully on January 22, 2025. He was the son of Clara (Betsy) Fassett- Ferrell and Samuel Lorenzo Moultray.

William attended the Wilmington Public school systems graduating from Delcastle Vocational Technical High School. He enjoyed playing basketball and various sports.

Woody, as he was affectionally known, cherished playing his Xbox or Play Station with his family and many friends. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he took great joy in watching their games and cheering them on with unwavering loyalty.

Woody dedicated many years of his career to Browning-Ferris Industries, where he was a valued employee until an injury led to his disability. His commitment and hard work were admired by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Clara (Betsy) Fassett-Ferrell, his father Samuel Lorenzon Moultray, his son William Malachi, his aunt Evelyn Fassett Mack, his uncle Joseph Fassett Sr., his grandparents, William H and Evelyn B., and his great-grandparents, Williard and Clara E. Johnson.

He is survived by his brother Corey Ferrell Sr.; his granddaughter Zoey Malachi; his nephews Corey Ferrell Jr and Corey Ferrell III, his Niece Cienna Broomer. He is also survived by his uncles Willard (Billy) Fassett, and Robert (Bobby) Fassett and his aunt Dana Fassett. He leaves behind his devoted cousins Terry Fassett, Robin Fassett, Doug Fassett, Anthony Fassett, Joanne (Jody) Fassett, Shenea Fassett, Christopher Fassett, mother of his son, Yolanda Malachi and longtime friend Deborah Akinshis, and a host of other cousins and friends.
