Warren O. Woodard Sr.

June 26, 1945 — January 6, 2022

Warren O. Woodard, Sr. was born on June 26, 1945 in Norfolk, VA to Lester and Thelma
Woodard. Warren passed on January 6, 2022, at home in Smyrna, DE.
Warren was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1962 and Norfolk State
University in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. While at his beloved Norfolk State,
he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated in 1964. Recently, Warren became a
Lifetime Alumni at Norfolk State University. Shortly after he graduated from NSU, he married
his first wife, Joan E. Williams and moved to Delaware to begin a 32-year long career with
DuPont.
Joan and Warren had 3 children, Warren, Jr (Faith), Andrea, and Denise. A most loving and
successful 32-year marriage to Joan ended with Warren caring for her during her battle with
cancer.
In 2000, Warren found love again with Adrienne McCamie Paige. Warren and Adrienne enjoyed
a 21-year marriage. With this new marriage, Warren's family grew to include Maxwell (Beth)
and Terrise as well as 8 grandchildren: Deborah, Diamond, Madeline, Kyra, Taina, Warren III,
Wilson, and Gillian. Warren and Adrienne traveled frequently, went to many jazz festivals, and
hosted several large family events over the years.
Warren loved being with his family, his brothers (Doc and Melvin), playing cards, and cheering
for the Washington Football team. His favorite pastimes were hanging with the Geezers,
watching TV, listening to music, and being looked to for fatherly and/or financial advice to all
who would listen. If you knew Warren, you knew to use the resources available to you and to
take care of your family.
Warren is preceded in death by both his parents, first wife, Joan Woodard, son, Warren O.
Woodard, Jr, and several siblings.
Warren is survived by his wife, Adrienne; children, Andrea and Denise Woodard; Faith
Woodard, Maxwell and Beth Paige; Terrise Paige; 8 grandchildren; sisters Caroline Anderson
and Ann Sennet; and a host of friends, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Warren's name to Spartan Promise, Norfolk State University's tuition assistance program. www.nsu.edu
