W. Beatrice Whitworth

W. Beatrice Whitworth was born on March 25, 1943, in Mason, Tennessee, to Odessa and Charles Adams. She passed away on August 14, 2024 in Dover, Delaware.

Beatrice graduated from Charles Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri (class of 1962). She received her Associate in Applied Science/Data Processing from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in 1987, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware in 2014. From 1990-1998, Beatrice operated her own maid service company, U.S.A. Maid. She was lastly employed/retired at the University of Delaware Library from 1999-2010.

Beatrice was a faithful member of the Holy Cross parish where she also served as a eucharistic minister. She also participated in the Northridge Book Club. Beatrice’s hobbies included different types of sewing, gardening, arts & crafts and reading novels.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her twin, Willis Adams, Sr. 

Beatrice is survived by her husband Donald; children, Christine, Donna, Brian (Latisha) and John; grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Julian, Brielle, Brayden, Ella and Myles; great-grandchildren, Mason, Carter, and Sarai; niece, Nedra Adams, nephew, Willis Adams, Jr. (Angela), great nephew, Seth Adams, great great niece, Samari Adams, and great great nephew, Isaiah Adams; and longtime friend, Celestine Knox-Wilson.
