Veronica L. Petroski

March 11, 1951 — August 11, 2019

Veronica Latresa Petroski born to the late William Isaac Spence and Christine Spence on March 11, 1951 in Wilmington, Delaware. Her early upbringing and schooling was in Penns Grove, New Jersey. She was an outstanding honor student. Veronica enrolled in Salem Community College where she received an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Technology and graduated at the Top of her class. She later attended Rutgers University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. She was employed as a Director at various corporations. It was at Salem Community College she met and married her husband, Edward G. Petroski. From this union were born three sons Steven, William, and Edward.
At the tender age of 12, Veronica received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Her faith was shaped by the character building principles of her parents. She was a faithful and dutiful member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Carney's Point, New Jersey under the leadership of her father, Bishop William I. Spence, and then under Bishop Edward Petroski, her husband. During her years of service in God's House, she was the church Financial Administrator as well as the Budget Manager for the Vacation Bible School, and whatever her hands found to do, she was available to serve.

Veronica (affectionately known as "Dear" to her husband) loved life and fashion. She enjoyed traveling with her family, sewing, cooking and entertaining. She was outgoing and did some of the following adventurous activities including riding in a hot air balloon, walking on a glacier in Alaska and a lava bed in Hawaii, riding an ATV in the dunes, and zip lining to name a few. When visiting the Pastor's and Veronica's home, she was a meticulous and gracious hostess - everything in place. She was quite charitable in seeing to the needs of many of the saints. Veronica was a ‘take charge' lady and one could count on her for constructive advice. More than family, education, adventure, cooking, and entertaining, her life was focused on being saved and Living for Jesus. She leaves in celebration of her life, a loving and faithful husband, Edward G., and three sons: Steven Paul (Carmella), William Garth (Maritza) and Edward Thayne (Ellen); and grandchildren - Jade, Gabriella, Coral, Phoenix, Cierra, Rebecca, Danielle and Isabella. She also leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Christine Spence and her mother-in-law, Veronica Petroski; three brothers, six sisters, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
