Vanessa Y. Lewis Witcher

Vanessa Y. Lewis Witcher beloved wife of Gary Witcher suddenly departed her life April 26, 2010 at Christiana Care Hospital at the age of 45. She was born in Wilmington, DE November 18, 1964 to Roma Lewis and William Gillis, Sr. She graduated from Newark High School in 1982. She began her work life with the Boys and Girls Club in Newark, DE and progessed to Regional Director with Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay. Vanessa loved to shop and all who knew "Nessa", knows her love was shoes and purses. She loved people. She natured and counseled many young people. She never met a stranger. In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by 3 sons, William Johnson, Jamar Lewis, both of Newark, DE and Gary Witcher, III of Berlin, Md; 3 grandchildren, Amir, William, Jr. and Tianni; 1 sister-in-law, Erica (Ken) Clowney of Durham, NC; 1 sister, Sherry Chandler of Newark, DE; 3 brothers, Kevin Chandler, Ernie Earl both of Newark, DE; William Gillis, Jr. of MD; maternal grandmother, Edith B. Lewis; 2 special aunts, Ella and Margaret and a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and special friends.
