Valerie Sherwin Waters

Valerie Sherwin Waters was born on October 29, 1956, in Wilmington, Delaware to Dorothy (Spencer) and Reuben Waters. She passed on Saturday, April 25th at her home with her children by her side in Newark, Delaware.

Valerie graduated from P.S. Dupont High School in 1974 and Delaware Technical Community College 1976 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was employed at Wilmington Trust after graduation, retired from United States Postal Service after over 30 years and Dart First State for 2 years.

Valerie was a faithful member of Simpson United Methodist Church and Arise Church in Wilmington, Delaware. She had many hobbies and interest. Such as writing, reading, cooking, catching sales at her favorite stores and winning at Delaware Park.

She was preceded in death by Reuben G. Waters (father), Elwood Spencer (grandfather), Mamie Spencer (grandmother), Loretta Spencer (Aunt) and Charles Spencer (uncle).

Valerie is survived by Gary L. Chandler (son), Morgan S. Chandler (daughter), Dorothy Waters (mother), Lanier Spencer (brother), Gary Waters (brother) and a host of relatives and friends.
