Tyrease Jerome Howard was born on July 12, 1981 in Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. He departed this life Thursday, October 20, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the youngest son born of twins, to Sarah Wilson-Thompson and Kevin Howard. The oldest twin, Shareaf Jeremiah Howard preceded Tyrease in death in 2001.
Tyrease received his education in Delaware, graduating from William Penn High School and continued his education, graduating from Pathway to apprenticeship leading to a position with Local 199.
Throughout Tyrease's life he loved and played basketball developing his craft through diligent practice. He started practicing at a young age, using his mother's laundry baskets. His sister Katara was his first competitor and coach. Tyrease became a phenomenal player. He played for schools, Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, Salvation Army, AAU League and other different local and out-of-state tournaments. Tyrease's most recent game was played at the 76ers Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Delaware. His greatest moment was when he scored a game high 25 points against former NBA player, Dajuan Wagner.
Tyrease held different jobs and received a lot of certifications, which included: Delaware Flagger certification and the transportation worker identification credentials. He loved spending time with his sisters, nieces and nephews and his children. He was especially close to his mother, and he took pride in being their protector. He was extremely happy when he became a grandfather and most of all he loved making people happy with his jokes.
Tyrease loved the Lord and had his own personal relationship with Him. Tyrease was a people person and learned at an early age how to be a leader from his right-hand man which was his father.
Tyrease leaves to cherish his loving memory: his mother Sarah Wilson-Thompson of Wilmington, Delaware and his father Kevin Howard, stepfather Charles Thompson, his children: Nymere Howard, Edwina Howard, Ne'veah Howard, Lyam Howard, one grandson, his sisters, Katara and Ashley Howard, brother Kevin McKnight, nieces Indiana McKnight, Deonii and Yoshii Reed, nephews Rashawn Owens and Prince McKnight, his aunts Victoria Gladney (Gregory), Gwendolyn Brown (William), Darlene Hicks, uncle Isaiah Howard, special close friends Shaunte Wilford-Starkey, Lonnie Clemmons, Ryan Smith and Michael Wiggs and a host of cousins, friends and family.
