Great and powerful is the god of our hope and salvation and, in His infinite
wisdom, The Creator called Tiburcio Acevedo “Nip” Torres, Jr. home on Saturday,
July 15, 2023.
Tiburcio Acevedo “Nip” Torres, Jr., son of the late Tiburcio Acevedo Torres, Sr.
and the late Miriam Armbrister Torres, was born November 19, 1958, in
Wilmington, Delaware. He was the youngest child of five. Nip attended
Wilmington High School and, after leaving high school, enlisted and served in the
US Army.
In 1979, he married Ms. Julie O’Neal Fair. From this union, came their two sons;
Tiburcio, III and Ivan.
Nip was preceded in death by his parents, Tiburcio Acevedo Torres, Sr. and
Miriam Armbrister Torres; his oldest brother, Victor Torres, Sr.; and his only sister,
Genara Torres.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 44 years, Julie Torres; four sons,
Tiburcio (Angela) Torres, III, Ivan Torres, Darrell Torres and Orlando Woody; One
daughter, Virginia Torres; Two brothers, Carlos (Lorraine) Torres and Jose Torres;
fifteen grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, co-workers, and
friends.
