Thomas H. Jones

Thomas H. Jones was born on April 23, 1939 in Snow Hill, MD to the late Evelyn and James Jones. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. ​Thomas (Tommy or Chick) received his early education in the Worcester County School System, and graduated from Worcester High School located in Snow Hill, MD in 1957. He relocated to Wilmington, DE in 1963 to be with Ruth E. Harmon. They entered into holy matrimony on January 31, 1969. Tommy was an exceptional cook as a result of working in "The Village Inn" (his mother's restaurant) and various other restaurants in Ocean City, MD. His fried fish and potato salad were only a few of the dishes for which he became famous. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and considered himself an avid golfer. After, being employed at various jobs he became employed at DuPont as a machinest for more than 30 years. He retired in 1997 never haven taken a sick day. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and James Jones; brothers, James, Truitt, and Calvin; sisters, Ernestine, Betty and Clara making him the sole surviving sibling for the past 5 years. Thomas is survived by Ruth ‘Punkin', his wife; Anita ‘Nikki" (Andre), his daughter; Jonathan ‘Jon-Jon', his son; Amber, his granddaughter; Averi, his great granddaughter; and Marie, his mother-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends.
