Tammy E. Copes was born on August 2, 1961, to the late Mary L. Copes and Irvin Johnson in Easton,
MD. She went on to be with the Lord on April 18, 2024, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Tammy received her education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware. She was employed as a
manager for McDonalds Corporation until her retirement.
Tammy was a member of New Pentacostal Church. She sang on the choir, served on the clothes closet
committee and enjoyed helping in any capacity that she could.
She loved her family and tried to attend every gathering that they had. She enjoyed cooking, dancing,
traveling, playing games with the children and helping around the house.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, 1 great-grandchild, Makoa Copes, and 2 sisters, Charlotte
and Diane Copes.
She is survived by her children: Daun, Tasha, and Tuesday Copes; 12 grandchildren:
Dre Copes, Ka’von Collins, Da’vontae Copes, Dwayne Weeks, Malik Copes, Tijahnae Gerald, Nathaniel
Burton, Donnaya Copes, Jaiden Dorsey, Sean Weeks, Dajanae Copes, and Emery Dorsett; 4 great-
grandchildren: Kaley Collins, Kamari Coleman, Noel Burton, and Dae’lonee Carter. 9 siblings: Keith
Johnson, Cynthia Gordon (Andre Sr.), Richard, Barnus, Johnny Copes, Aaron, Larry, Gary, and Damika
Johnson; along with Sharon Matthews and Elder Alice Martin, with whom she resided. Special friend,
Henry Brown, daughters-in-love Denise Gibbs & Kimberly McGee, and a host of other relatives and
friends.
