Songhai L. Sawyer

Songhai was born on June 24, 1974, in Queens Village New York. He passed on September 12, 2021, at Christiana Hospital in Newark Delaware.

Songhai or Sonny as many of his friends knew him went to Brandywine high school where he grew to love the sport of football. After school he worked hard in various fields of employment he resided in warehouse/forklift driver work and had over 12 years experience in this field.

Songhai was known for a kind heart good sense of humor somebody you could talk to, about anything and not be judged, ask for advice, and somebody you could count on to have your back in any situation.

He had a big interest/hobby in cars. He loved cars but his own particular was his favorite. His favorite thing to do was clean his car. As soon as the sun would Gleam onto the chrome rims the right way it would bring a smile to his face every time.

Songhai was preceded in death by his father: Songhai Leon Sawyer Jr. and
Margaret Harley.

Songhai is survived by Songhai is survived by his girlfriend, Andriana McKay; son, Songhai Sawyer; daughter, Mykell Sawyer; brother, Karl Ford
Karl Ford; grandmother, Melanie Wetzstein; granddaughter, Amaryllis Sawyer; aunt, The Reverend Deacon Cecily Sawyer Harmon; along with a host of friends. Previous Events
