Shirley was born July 9, 1942, in Lipscomb, Alabama. Her parents were John Taylor and Ora Wild. She
passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023.
Shirley was a graduate of Wilmington High School. She worked as an LPN at The Wilmington General
Hospital. She was employed in the Medical Center of Christiana Care for over 30 years. She was proud of
her involvement in the opening of the Christiana Care Heart Center.
Shirley was an active mainstay of her 38th Street Community in Wilmington. She was known as “Mom” to
many and a friend to everyone. She was an avid collector of stamps, bells, and dolls.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Clark, her brother(s) Clinton Taylor, Jimmie
Taylor, and Larry Taylor, sister Terry Dickerson.
Shirley is survived by her son Shaun Clark, his spouse Shannon Clark, and her grandchildren Dylan and
Logan. She is survived by her siblings: Rose Vaughn, Faye Taylor, Barbara Jones , and Johnnie Smith, and
her extended family of Airicka Matthews, Aiden Walker and Mickey Matthews, along with a host of
relatives and friends.
Shirley left her mark on many and she will never be forgotten. She will be forever loved.
A Private service for family will be held after the Memorial.
