Shameeka Lorraine Mayo (affectionately known as Mookie) aged 32, was born August 15, 1991 in Wilmington, Delaware to Terrence J. Taylor and Malika Mayo. She departed this Life suddenly on June 06, 2024 in the St Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware
Shameeka received her early education in the Wilmington Public School System and graduated from McKean High School class of 2009. After graduating Shameeka worked various jobs, which included Home Health Care at numerous Health Care facilities. Shameeka’s real love was working in Retail Sales where she showed case her charismatic personality and her willingness to assist the public.
Shameeka was raised by her Paternal grandmother Doreen Taylor in a loving Christian home and was treated as if she was Doreen’s own child since infancy. Shameeka was a loving child, always smiling, never ever complain just one happy go lucky spirit!! Everyone that encounter her loved her infectious demeanor and loving heart that she possessed. She had many many friends whom adore her and family that embraced and supported her in her endeavors throughout her life Journeys. Shameeka enjoyed and loved on her family especially her two children Jaliera and Tyshia whom she adored and raised, there wasn’t nothing she wouldn’t do for her children, always nourishing and caring for them. Shameeka also enjoyed spending time with her favorite cousins Terri (Bubbles), Cheryl (Cheryl Cheryl), Alesha (Kye), Melissa Williams and a special aunt Cyette Mayo just to mention a few.
Shameeka was predeceased by sister Shareese Mayo; Maternal Grandfather-Martin Williams; Paternal Great Grandmother- Thelma L. Taylor; Paternal Great Grandfather- Ray Skinner: survived by one daughter Jaliera Mayo-Barber and one son Tyshia Partlow: father Terrence T (Michelle) and mother Malika Mayo; siblings’; Maurice Mayo; Lannie Pulliam; Tershonda Taylor-Money; Terrence Taylor Jr; Jamar Taylor and Tamira; paternal grandmother-Doreen Taylor( whom raised her); paternal grandfather- John Skinner; maternal grandmother Debra Mayo; great grandmother, Janett Mayo, paternal great grandmother Irene Skinner; one devoted great uncle Dana Taylor and two devoted uncles Alfred Taylor and Solomon Mayo; 4 cousin like sisters, Cheryl Broomer, Terri Mayo, Alesha Taylor and Melissa Williams; godparents Crystal Weather-Carter and Thomas Skinner, four devoted friends Brianna Hazelett, Lorraine Parks, Shanika Black, and Nettie (Cookie) McCray, and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
