Samuel L. Reeves, Sr., affectionately known as Big Daddy, Slice, and Brownie, was born on October 20, 1938 to the late Boyd Raymond and Rosiebell Reeves in Oxford, PA. He was the fourth of nine siblings. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Sam departed this life at the Chester County Hospital with his wife, oldest daughter, and his granddaughter (his personal nurse) by his side.

Sam met the love of his life with the help of his sisters by passing love notes in the choir box at Christ Temple Church. On February 17, 1962 he married his forever love, Helen. To their union, they were blessed to have five children: Jacquelyn Louise, Samuel Lee Jr., Catherine Kimberly, Wendy Dawn and Harry Boyd.

Sam was a faithful deacon, servant, and original member of Christ Temple Church (Greater Works Ministries). In 2021 he began worshipping and continued serving his capacity as Deacon at Highway Word of Faith.

In his early years, Sam enjoyed spending time at the racetrack racing his car he called Two Cent Stamp. Through the years, he enjoyed spending time with Helen going shopping, running errands and eating breakfast on Saturday mornings at Perkins in their matching outfits. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren and great- grandchildren’s sporting events.
