Ruby Louise Drake

Ruby L. Drake, age 87, departed this life on December 27, 2019. She was born in Baltimore, MD on November 14, 1932 to the late Wilber Jones Sr., and Julia Jett.

Ruby was educated in the Baltimore public school system and after graduation, she went on to work various jobs. She retired from Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

She was united in holy matrimony to Danny Lee Drake. Ruby relocated to Wilmington, DE in 1987. She enjoyed spending time with family especially during the holidays. You could be sure to find her sitting at the kitchen table greeting everyone with a hello as she rubbed her hands together. She was a member of Mother African Union Church where she met her devoted friend Rev. Smith.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memories: son, Leon Anderson Sr.; five grandchildren, Leon Jr, Shayner Anderson, Celeste Anderson, Dontay Anderson, and Jacqueline Anderson, all of Baltimore, MD; twenty-five great grandchildren and fifteen great-great children; one brother, Maurice (Sharon) Jones Sr.; two sisters, Elizabeth (Tennis) Willis and Mary Margret Pierre; three sisters-in-law, Ellen Chase, Faye and Adline Jones; four devoted nieces, Deneen, Erica and Ebonese McManus and Darnasha Carney. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by two grandsons, Anthony Anderson Sr. and Darron Anderson; five brothers, Wilbert Jr. and Larry Jones, Eugene, Thomas and Adolphus Chase; and her step-father Willie Jett. Also, her devoted special friend, Donald "Jake" Davis; and a friend who was more like a daughter, Edith Fletcher.
