Rose Nell Barr

November 23, 1948 — May 29, 2021

Rose Nell Barr was born on November 23, 1948, in Johnsonville, SC, to Luther Rufus Barr and Mary Leona Brown Barr. She departed this life on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, two sisters, Elvora Barr and Lynette Barr, and one brother, Lygette Barr. Rose leaves to cherish her memories with one brother, Alfred O'Farrel Lee (Delphia) Barr; five sisters, Ella Mae Barr, Deloris Barr, Alean (Vanderbilt) Scott, Leona Barr-Davenport (Jewel), and Wanda Juliet Barr; two nieces, Vanese A. Scott and Valesha A. Scott; one nephew, Carson A. Spencer; one great-nephew, JaVan I. Scott; two goddaughters, RoShanda Johnson and Maliah Cooper, and a multitude of family members and friends.

Rose received Christ after relocating to Delaware as she was lying in her bed at the home of her Uncle David and Aunt Curley Mitchell. To God be the glory! She didn't mind praising God!

Rose attended Chavis Elementary, Stuckey Elementary, and Stuckey High
School. She also received training at the Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) in Delaware. Rose retired in 2010 from Discover Card Services in Wilmington, DE.

Rose loved to sing! She used her God-given talents to sing with the McCants Relations Singers, the Inspirational Chorus, the Brown Family, Serena Ford and Friends, the Voices of Mount Sinai, the Praise & Worship team, the Barr Sisters, Anointed of Delaware, and Bishop Freddie Washington's Choir in New Jersey. Rose was honored to sing background vocals on award-winning artist Patti LaBelle's first Gospel release, "I Can Fly," in 1988.

One of her favorite songs is "Heaven is Looking Down on Me". Previous Events
