On November 23, 2024, Ronald Garrett Webb, Sr., affectionately known as “Ron,” completed his journey on this earth, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 13, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Mabel Webb and Herman Davis, Ron’s life was a testament of resilience, dedication and boundless love.
Ron was a man of remarkable character and strength, embodying what it means to live with purpose. A proud graduate of Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware, where he formed many lifelong friendships and began the journey of a life well-lived. He dedicated an incredible 46 years of service to Dupont, rising to the role of Senior Equipment Operator through sheer hard work and a steadfast commitment to excellence. From 2001 to 2006, Ron received certification from the City of Wilmington Fire Department. His contributions to his community extended far and wide through his quiet support of charities and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
For Ron, family was everything. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandson, Nicholas, who was his inspiration and pride. The bond they shared brought him endless happiness. Ron cherished moments with family and friends, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and delicious meals. Whether cruising on his Harley Davidson Trike, preserving family history by digitalizing old photos, enjoying the peace of fishing, traveling to new places, or immersing himself in the soulful rhythms of jazz, Ron approached life with passion and enthusiasm.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Ronald Garrett Webb, Jr., and his beloved grandson, Nicholas Webb, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his sisters, Janice and Patricia Webb of New Castle, Delaware, and Carolyn (Webb) Amos of Detroit, Michigan; his brothers, Robert Earl of North Carolina, Joseph, Oliver (Grace), and Bryant (Robin) of Wilmington, Delaware. Ron will also be fondly remembered by his devoted friends, Lawrence Allen, Ronell Proctor, and Bernard Beaney; his H.O.G. biker family; his caring neighbors, Michael Annone and family and Sada Subramania; his Dupont colleagues; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mabel Webb and Herman Davis; his siblings, Barbara (Webb) Neal, Mary (Webb) Lewis, and Marcella Webb; and his aunts and uncles, Lorraine, Betty, Roberta, Marie, Charles, Donald, James, John, and William Webb, Jr.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on December 14, 2024, at Mount Joy United Methodist Church. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the incredible life he lived.
