Robert H. Taylor Jr. was born on February 15, 1982 in Wilmington, Delaware to Robert H. Taylor, Sr. and the late Opal Taylor. Robert was called home on May 12, 2022.
Robert attended public schools in Wilmington, Delaware, and he had several jobs starting at a young age. He was an extremely intelligent, compassionate, loving, caring, father, friend, mentor, protector, role model, and comedian too. He was just an all-around outstanding, genuine person. Robert never judged a book by its cover, and those who truly knew him knew that you could always be yourself around him and that he would never judge. He would listen and give advice, and always let you know when you were wrong. He didn't sugarcoat anything for anybody.
Robert, the family man, was known as "goals" as his friends would say. He met his fiance in 2007, and they were inseparable ever since. He was also his daughters' best friend, and they could talk to him about anything, and he always kept it real with them. He taught them many life lessons too. He taught them how to defend themselves, and even enrolled everyone in boxing and karate. Robert was a hands-on dad who didn't miss a beat. His girls trusted him wholeheartedly--we all did!
Robert genuinely loved helping people. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He was a man of his word. He was so intelligent; he could do anything he put his mind to. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and electronics. He had many different business ventures too. He even had a small electric bike business called "E-Legends Custom Unique Electric Bikes" built to your individualized personality. He designed and built multiple bikes for his customers, and they enjoyed his A-1 customer service and great personality, along with his passion for his business. He even had a team of investors ready to fully invest in his dreams. He was the man with the plan! Each bike he built and sold told a story about the customer, and every experience was different. Robert loved to test ride the bikes when he finished putting everything together. He would ride different bike trails all over the Wilmington, New Castle, and Newark areas.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Opal Taylor, Winnifred Young, maternal grandmother, Rudolph Lewis, maternal grandfather, and Hyacinth McGlashan, paternal grandmother.
In addition to his father Robert Taylor, Sr., Robert is survived by his fiance Shaelynn Mowbray, daughters Tierrah Taylor, Armani Taylor, and Jaya Taylor, sisters Heather Taylor Nanan, Sophia Taylor, Q-anna Taylor, Shernette Taylor, and Brittaney White, and his brother Franklin Allen, and a host of family & friends.
