Rita Ann Harmon Jacobs

Rita Ann Harmon Jacobs, age 51, of Wilmington, DE departed this life peacefully, on Thurs., Dec. 20, 2007 surrounded by family and friends. Rita was born on March 30, 1956 to Rita M. Harmon and the late Harvey D. Harmon in Wilm., DE. Rita was married to her loving husband Sid R. Jacobs for 21 years. She was the mother of Rita F. Jacobs and Naya F. Jacobs. Rita graduated from St. Mark's High School and the University of Delaware. She had a Master's of Social Work Degree from Delaware State University. Rita enjoyed her career as a social worker for 28 years. Rita was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. Rita is also survived by her brothers, Victor Newman (Lee); William "billy" Harmon (Juanita), James Harmon (Barbara); a sister, Charlotte Givens;in-laws, Alex and Berlene Lewis; a brother-in-law, William "Al" Jacobs; her friend Phyllis Chambers-Mobley.
