The daughter of the late Joseph and Jacqueline Newman, was born on June 9, 1947 in Wilmington, DE. She departed this life on Friday, October 21, 2011. Rene affectionately known as "Mommy 2", received her early education in the Wilmington Public Schools and graduated from Howard High School. Rene was one of the first women in the City of Wilmington to receive a CDL. She was employed by General Motors for 27 years, before retiring 4 years ago. She was a faithful member of COTLW Outreach Ministry, Inc. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching her fame shows and doing her word search puzzles. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, William E. Jones, three sisters; Marline, Penny and Bonnie Newman, one brother; Barry Newman; three dear friends; Pastor Minnie, Minister Hamm and Cindy Thomas and a host of family and friends.
