Queen Esther Ushery

Queen Esther Ushery the daughter of late Bertha and Wesley Ushery was born in belle Glade, Florida on May 17, 1957. She departed this life on July 18, 2024 at the Christiana hospital in Newark.

Queen received her early childhood education at the Bancroft Elementary school in Wilmington. She attended Howard Highschool. Queen held a janitorial position at busy B's. She had a passion for supporting the homeless community in Wilmington.

Queen loved to cook, clean, and spend time with her family. She was a mother to many and always provided counsel and support to her loved ones. Queen had a passion for outreach and loved to provide meals, care packages, and clothes to anyone in need. She was a member at Rebuilders Faith Ministries located in Wilmington, DE since 2020 where she was one of the founders of the outreach program.

Queen was preceded in death by her parents Bertha and Wesley Ushery, brothers John-Lee Wiliams Alonzo Ushery; sister-in-law Deborah Stevens-Ushery.

She leaves to carry on her legacy to her siblings Annie-Pearl, Joanne, Nancy, Calvin (Debbie), Wille, Wesley (Rochelle); her children Maria Ushery, Cleve Wright, Joquita Ushery and Joanne Cooper.

Grandchildren Rashan, Rashanna, Cleve Jr, Tamia, Rashid, Kalea, Kayla; Great grandchildren Makenzie and Mali; God daughters Jy’Naiah and Gy’Khiah and Lifelong best-friend Debbie Nelson-Ushery and a host of family and friends.
