Perry L. Price, Sr.

May 7, 1935 — June 2, 2022

Perry "Lump" Price Sr., 87, was born May 7,1935, and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Wilmington, Delaware. Perry was born in Dover, DE to parents Lennard Price and Annie Mae Hackett. He attended William Henry High School where he graduated. Shortly thereafter, Perry moved to Wilmington, DE where he became a truck driver hauling lumber. He and his wife Doris E. Price of sixty-seven years gave life to five children.

In Perry's early life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports with his family and close friends. He especially enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers and wrestling. After retiring from hauling lumbar, he decided to go back to work. He became a delivery driver for a local flower shop where he was loved by all who worked with him. Once retiring for the second time, he decided to finally relax and take joy in what he loved to do most…. whatever he wanted to.

In his later years, Perry never turned his back on his beloved Eagles and Sixers (when at times he should have). He watched his Friday night wrestling religiously. He relished in the simple things, taking morning walks, reading the newspaper, playing the lottery, and A SHOT AND A BEER!

Perry is preceded in death by his son, Perry Price Jr., grandson; Henry Gibson, and his parents, Lennard Price and Annie Mae Hackett.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Anthony Price, Cynthia Price, John Price, and Sherry Price. Perry was given the honor of becoming "Grandpop" to Andrienne Dolley, Perry Price III, Robert Price, Mona White, Shamea Price, Raphael Price, and Stephen Gibson. Perry was given the blessing of witnessing his family continue to grow, as he is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Perry Price Sr. was an easy guy, who wasn't much for chit chat so to sum it up we say thank you. We want to say: Thank you for always being there for the ones you loved no matter what. Thank you for being unapologetically you. And thank you for being the man you were for all of us. Take it easy now! Previous Events
