Paul J. Foster was born on April 3, 1950 in Newark, NJ to Frager Fred Foster Sr. and Priscilla Pickens Foster. He passed on April 25, 2024 in Wilmington, DE at Delaware Hospice, surrounded by friends and family.
PJ attended South Side High School in Newark, New Jersey and was a member of the 1965 Undefeated City Champion football team, where he played defensive tackle. In addition, he was a member of the only Black Senior Drum and Bugle Corps in New Jersey called the George Washington Carver Gay Blades.
He attended Winston-Salem State University where he played football. He completed his undergraduate education at Delaware State University with a degree in Fine Arts.
He received a Master of Science Degree in Human Services from Springfield College and was an Art and Photography Teacher in the Red Clay School District.
He was a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was also a visual artist, world traveler, and entrepreneur.
PJ was preceded in death by his Father Frager Fred Foster Sr., his Mother Priscilla Pickens Foster, his Nephew Shomari Foster, and his Sister-in-Law Alberta Foster Esq. He is survived by his daughter Patrice Foster, Brother Frager Foster Jr., Niece Rukiya Foster, and a host of relatives and friends.
