Pastor Tim Couch, Jr.

Pastor Tim Couch, Jr. A man of dignity. A man of integrity. A man of faith.

He was born in Wilmington, DE in 1955; the last of seven children to the late Tim & Ruthabell Couch. He peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Christiana Care.

Elder Couch was a 1974 graduate of PS DuPont High School. Upon graduating, he attended Delaware Tech Community College, majoring in psychology. In 1976 he began courting Ms. Robin E. Moore and in 1978 they were united in holy matrimony. They were blessed to be married for 46 years.

Elder Couch was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Bishop L.T. Blackshear, where he received his call to ministry. For 12 years, he served as a faithful Assistant Pastor at Prayer Temple Ministries under the leadership of the Late Bishop JoeNathan Hunter, Sr.

In 1995, Elder Couch heard the Lord’s call to Pastor. He started with an inspirational segment on DETV (channel 28); Lifeline Ministries with Tim Couch, Jr. and in 1996 he established Lifeline Reachout Church, INC. in New Castle, DE. Through his tutelage and guidance, this ministry gave birth to many gifts. Simultaneously, Pastor Couch was employed with General Motors for over 30 years and worked as an on-call chaplain with Christiana Care for over 10 years. Some of his community efforts included work as a juvenile counsellor and prison ministry.

Pastor Couch took pride in his appearance. He could be found ironing, steaming, and hemming everyone’s clothes. In his leisure time, he enjoyed home improvement projects, watching HGTV, weekend trips to Lancaster, PA with his wife, and spending time with his family. He LOVED his family. In his retirement and in his continuous effort to help his sons, he decided to watch after his grandchildren; keeping 10 out of the 12. This became a passion of his and he affectionately called the home “Papi’s Daycare”.

Never leaving ministry far behind, Pastor Couch later established Christlike Church, INC. in New Castle, DE. With his ever-invigorating spirit and demeanor, he continued to inspire, encourage, and ignite those around him, admonishing them to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Pastor Couch was preceded in death by his parents, Tim & Ruthabell Couch; two sisters: Rachel Ransome and Juanita Reed and one brother: Wilbur Couch.

He leaves to cherish his legacy; his wife, Robin E. Moore-Couch, his sons: Timothy Darnell (Jasmine), Criston (Maya), Marcus Sr. (Schmere), Justin T., and Anthony Couch. His grandchildren, Amyra, Gavin, Marcus II, John, Cameryn, Hannah, MacKenzie, Seth, Imani, Cadence, Orli, and Khaden. One great grandson, Kingston. In addition, he leaves three brothers: William (Pauline), Bishop Charles (Marilyn), and Marvin (Ashley) Couch. Special daughter: Johnita Calhoun. A host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, neighbors, and friends. There will certainly be a void in the hearts of the Christlike Church family. However, we echo the words of Pastor Couch and stand in the confidence that “God is faithful!”
