Pastor Melvin Edward Moore

April 9, 1965 — June 12, 2022

Melvin Edward Moore (or Eddie as those closest to him knew him) was born the first child to Melvin and Shufronia Moore on April 9th 1965 in Philadelphia, PA. He was called home to be with the Lord on June 12th 2022.

While Melvin received his early education from the Philadelphia public school system; he however graduated from Greenville High School (class of 1983) in Greenville, SC. After graduating from high school Melvin enlisted in the U.S Navy where he served 4 years as a Navy Medic. In addition to his time as a Navy serviceman, Melvin re-enlisted into the Delaware National Guard to complete a total of 13 years of service to the military. After working in several administrative positions, Melvin decided to embark upon a career in Banking, where he worked 20+ years in management at Bank of America. Most recently, with a love for God's word, Melvin completed his Masters Degree in Biblical Theology.

On June 7th 1997, Melvin married Lynette Moore (Nette) and from this union they were blessed with two children: Ashlyn and Eric Moore. Melvin was very dedicated to his wife and children. Always supportive of their accomplishments, Melvin was most proud to be a husband and father.

Melvin absolutely loved his Philadelphia sports teams; especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia 76ers. He was so excited to go to the Super Bowl parade when the Eagles won Super Bowl 52. He was so elated to share this event with his son. Also, Melvin experienced one of his proudest moments as a father when Eric was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers to be a part the NBA HBCU fellowship program where he works as a marketing intern.

Melvin was devoted to God and served in several capacities of ministry and with various churches before becoming the Pastor of Vision Fellowship Ministries located in Middletown, DE. Melvin faithfully served as the pastor of Vision Fellowship Ministries for 8 years. Being a Pastor was one of the highlights of his life and he served well, leading by example, serving God's people with integrity and a pure heart. Pastor Moore loved having good church and would often sing songs of Zion, even if he sang off key. He generally just enjoyed being in the presence of God.

Melvin was predeceased by his father Melvin Moore, Maternal grandparents Leroy and Mary Sanders, Paternal grandparents Joseph and Florene Moore, Aunt Robin Sutton, Father-in-law Ellis Moore, And special church mother "Mom" Olivia Roane.
