Parlee Terry was born on July 8,1934 in Buena Vista, Georgia to the
late Jimmy and WillieMae Sampson. Parlee peacefully transitioned
at home.
Parlee received her education in the Buena Vista School System.
Parlee worked as a nurturing and dedicated housekeeper and
caretaker to many long-term families who absolutely adored her.
In her family, Parlee was the heart and soul. Her love for her family
knew no bounds and she always showed it in the most remarkable
ways. She had an undeniable comforting and warm embrace that
could be felt in many different ways. One of those ways, was
through her delicious southern-style cooking. Parlee was a
phenomenal cook and enjoyed feeding anyone who came to visit
her home. While Parlee was loved by her family, she was also
cherished by many other loved ones and she loved them just the
same. She was always considerate and thoughtful of checking on the
well-being of those she loved. She was known to encourage younger
generations to pursue their dreams. Parlee LOVED all of her grand
and great-grandchildren and having them in her home.
Parlee enjoyed church services and listening to her gospel music.
Her favorite song was “Take my hand precious lord”.
Parlee is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and WillieMae
Sampson, her brother Grady Sampson; In-laws James (Jennie),
Juanita, Otis Terry, and Charles Walker; Step-son Burnell Davis son-
in-law Charles Watson and grandson Antoine Terry.
Parlee leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband of 72
years, Willie Terry II; her children, Anita Watson, Jacqueline Terry,
Willie Terry III, and Anthony Terry; step-children, Albert Davis and
Angie Murray; and a brother, Henry Sampson. Grandchildren: Julia
Watson, Kyle Terry, Kacia Terry, Jonathan Watson, Michael Lathan
Jr., and Joshua Lathan. Great-grandchildren: Kyla, Kyan, Ky’ana, and
Kyren Terry. Brother/Sister-in-laws: Ladon Terry, Joe Terry, Liz
Walker, Theresa Terry, and Helen (Clarence) Patterson. As well as a
host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
