Orlando P. "Fat Head" Coleman, Sr.

Orlando Patrice Coleman, Sr. of Claymont, Delaware was born on August 21, 1965, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Betty Holden-Davis and Russell Coleman. On Saturday, March 11, 2023, he departed this life in Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wesley and Sarah Johnson Holden who raised him in a holy and loving manner. Orlando, as we know him as “Land” and “Fat Head,” loved to enjoy his family and friends in conversation.

Land, as we known him, received his education in Accomack County Public School System and was a graduate of Arcadia High School, Oak Hall, Virginia in June 1983.

His Christian walk began at an early age when he was baptized at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Atlantic, Virginia.

He had almost 30 years of service with the International Longshoremen’s Association where he worked as a Longshoreman. Fat Head was always hard working, and he loved people with compassion and pride.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a dedicated son, Orlando Coleman, Jr. his grandson, Kyng his pride and joy; one loving aunt, Sharon Holden Black (Ralph) and an uncle like brother, Gary Holden, both of Norfolk, Virginia, three cousins that were raised as siblings, Syril Tindley Rudolph (Darnell), Sylvia Tindley and Tony Tindley of New Jersey was raised very close together, one great-aunt, Eva Holden of New Church, Virginia, that was his first babysitter, a very special loving friend, Olivia Wharton of Wilmington, Delaware, bonus dad, Andrew Tindley, dear and beloved godchildren, Stuart and Shanel Ransome, a host of nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn his passing.
