Oba was born on October 4, 1948, in Wilmington, DE, to the late William James Lucas and Dorothy Victoria Lucas. He passed form on August 27, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Bro. Oba received his childhood education from the public schools of Wilmington. After school he worked for the City of Wilmington where he was employed for many years. Bro. Oba was united into the Moorish Science Temple in 1971 at the age of 22 years old up until his death. He was also united in marriage to his beautiful wife Phyllis Bey on June 7, 1991, of whom he loved and cherished with all his heart. Oba was a very uplifting and genuine person. He was dedicated to serving at the Moorish Science Temple, especially with escorting the sisters to their vehicles and doing security during temple meetings. Oba was comical and could make his family and friends laugh. He loved looking at the history channel and loved anything related to science, astrology, and history. He also loved Sci-Fi and Gangster movies. Oba had a wealth of knowledge and was very passionate regarding history of the Moorish Science Temple of America and he did not hesitate to share his knowledge with family, friends, and members of the temple. Oba was preceded in death by his daughter-Sakeenah Jackson, son- Denzel Kee Bey, brothers- Kinyimi Ali (Lamont Lucas), Francis Russel, sisters- Deborah Lucas-Brown, Jeanette Reams, and Lillian Bass, a special brother- Ty Guy. He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife of 28 years- Phyllis Bey; children- Dawn (Kenneth) Goldsborough, Eugene Smallwood, Oba (Brandon) Jackson, Shawnda Jackson, and Stephen Jackson; Siblings- Constance (Joey) Price, Andrea Valentine, Virginia Barner, Shelia Lucas, Elvin (Dorothy) Lucas, Turhan Lucas, Kevin Lucas, Edward Russel, Linda (Herman) Brokenbrough, Dwayne Lucas, Kevin Lucas, Rodney Lucas, Wendy Lucas, and Charlene Guy; In-love siblings- Wyatt Thomas, Denise (Curtis) Hayman, Terry Kee, Maxine Kee; Best-friend Dwight Davis-EL, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
