Nancy L. Carter

Nancy was born on September 9, 1956 in Wilmington, DE, to Mildred Poteat Carter and Amos Carter. She passed on February 3, 2025 in Wilmington, DE.

Nancy received her early childhood education from Warner elementary school. She graduated from P.S Dupont. After school she worked as a court clerk for court 11. She received her associates degree from Delaware Technical Community College. She highly enjoyed working for court 11 and was employed there for majority of her career.

Nancy was a firm spiritual believer, and attended church as much as possible. She had many hobbies and interests. This included spending time with her children and family, Monthly family Sunday dinners where she would feed anyone and everyone, Getting her nails done with multiple family members, Breakfast dates with her daughters, Spending time with her grandchildren, visits to the casino, sitting outside of her home enjoying a lovely day and spending time with the friends that she grew up with at the park.

Nancy was proceeded in death by Amos Carter (Father), Mildred Poteat Carter (Mother), Shirley Carter (Sister), Thelma Carter (Sister) and Shamba Carter (Nephew).

Nancy is survived by Arthur Gatewood (son), Tenika Benjamin (Daughter), Tanei Benjamin (Daughter), Brandon Benjamin (son), Larry Poteat (Brother), Her grand children, Arkiece May, Teniyah Benjamin, Arona Ingram, Adrain Gibbs Jr, Christian Benjamin and Braylen Benjamin and a host of relatives and friends.
