Willie Teresa Singleton, affectionallyknown as "Mother Singleton," peacefully departed this life on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Pinnacle Nursing Home in Smyrna, DE. Mother Singleton was born on November 15, 1923 in Quitman, GA,she was the daughter of Charlie Mae McClendon, and Willie T. Mannings. Mother spent the early part of her childhood in Tampa, FL. She was joined in Holy Matrimony on July 30, 1940 to the late Superintendent Malachi Singleton Sr., from their union they were blessed with 2 daughters and 3 sons. Willie was a devoted wife and mother, she was committed to her family and church. Mother did domestic work and was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years. Mother Singleton worked faithfully by her husband's side as he successfully pastored two churches Emmanuel Church of God in Christ in Ocean City, NJ and Holy Community Church of God in Christ in Cedarville, New Jersey. Mother was a loving and anointed First Lady, in 1959 she accepted her call as a Missionary, and because of her faithfulness and hard work, she was later appointed as District Missionary in the South Eastern New Jersey District. Missionary Singleton worked diligently in this position until the death of her husband. In 1976 she became a member of the Mother Church of God in Christ and continued her work as Missionary. She was appointed as head of the Missionary Board were she actively trained others to the Missionary field. After severing for many years at the Mother Church of God in Christ, she and her daughter were called to the Deliverance Evangelist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were they continued their work as Missionaries. Mother Singleton, loved helping others, she would often open the doors to her home for those needing a place to stay, and had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and at home. She also would extend her hand to feed and clothe the homeless. In fact, Mother was so dedicated to the Lord's work that without hesitation, she opened the doors of her home birthing a new ministry, which is known today as "Gospel Times Church of God in Christ" working with the founder the late Pastor Gentile Daniels. Mother found pleasure working with her hands in the garden, making homemade ice cream, homemade jellies, and crocheting. She loved sharing her skill of crocheting with others, and she enjoyed traveling. Willie Teresa Singleton was preceded in death by her late husband Malachi Singleton Sr. and her daughter Charlie Z. Jenkins. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving Sister Percie Lee Everette, four children, Malachi Singleton Jr. (Wendy), Willie Thomas Singleton (Joyce), David Lee Singleton (Patricia), April Theresa Todd (Sean), 1 son-in-law William Jenkins, 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Finally, the family would like to leave you with this, in the words of our dear sweet Mother Singleton, who often would adamantly convey "Go God's Way!" Lovingly Submitted the Family!
