Michael Henry Solomon was born on August 16th, 1965 to Henry Solomon (deceased) and Addie Richardson in Philadelphia, PA, before moving to Wilmington, DE as a young child where he received his education. He attended Concord High School, Job Corps, and Del Tech.
Michael was a jack-of-all-trades but was most proud of his work mentoring his community at the Creative Vision Factory where he was a staff leader and artist for the past 11 years. Michael was the heart and soul of his beloved CVF family and will be dearly missed.
Michael loved putting his creative mark on Wilmington. His public art, murals, and business signs can be seen throughout the city. He especially enjoyed teaching art and facilitating workshops for schoolchildren.
Michael was a spontaneous adventurer who loved to travel. He was a gifted musician who played several instruments, most notably his African drums. Michael loved gardening and carried soil home from his grandfather's field in South Carolina to add to his vegetable garden.
In 2008 Michael was a founding member of Back on My Feet in Philadelphia, a non-profit dedicated to combating homelessness through the power of running. Michael was the first BOMF member to complete a half marathon. He went on to run 2 full marathons, several half marathons, and a number of 5K runs.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Diana in 2007.
He is survived by his mother, Addie; daughter, Kelly; brothers Fred and Adrian (Sonya); special lady KimiGee; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, including a special great-nephew, King. Previous Events
