My Journey…..
Melinda Rochelle Thornton was born August 11, 1968, in Wilmington DE to the parents of Franklin (Frankie) And Betty Thornton. God quietly called her home to a perfect rest on July 24, 2021.
Melinda received her early childhood education from Dunleith Elementary School and graduated from William Penn High school. She also attended Goldey Beacom College for 2 years. Upon leaving Goldey She became employed by Delaware Charter Guarantee & Trust Company.
In 2003, Melinda pursued her passion of becoming an entrepreneur. This included making & selling candy, candles, contributed to the community by selling homemade dinners from scratch. She joined her mother, Betty in the cleaning business and eventually branched off to her own cleaning business named MAX cleaning named after which stood for her children ( Mercedes, Asia, and grandson Xavier).
After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she became a strong advocate supporting the fight for a cure. She had many hobbies which included, fashion, bowling, spending time with family and friends, and most of all she loved cooking from her many cooking gadgets (turkey fryer, panini grill, juicer, magic butter machine maker to name a few ).
Melinda leaves to cherish her memories with her daughters, Mercedes Thornton and Asia Johnson. Father and Mother, Franklin and Betty Thornton; brother, Omar (Denise) Thornton; One and only grandson Xavier Thornton; godson, Tyler Mayfield, and a host of friends and relatives. Previous Events
