Mary Elizabeth Alexander

Mary Elizabeth Alexander-Whittle, affectionately known as "Little Mary," "Gurt," and "Nonnie," was born to the late Richard and Sallie Whittle on April 16, 1945 in Salem, New Jersey. Little Mary departed this life on October 14, 2022. She will be missed dearly by her loved ones.

Little Mary received her education in the Penns Grove, New Jersey school system. She went on to become a data entry operator for companies such as Gulf, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Siemens.

Little Mary loved traveling throughout the country and was therefore known as a "gypsy." She lived in and traveled to many places such as Delaware, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Texas. Some called Little Mary "Gurt" for her love of food. She enjoyed eating candy and dining at her favorite restaurant, the Golden Corral.

Little Mary shared a love for music, and her favorite singer, Anita Baker. Most who knew her knew that her celebrity crush was Brad Pitt and that she enjoyed Saturday mornings at Cowtown. Known for her sense of humor and kind heart, Little Mary would not allow anyone to go hungry and was always willing to provide shelter.

In addition to her parents, Little Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Richard, Raymond, Wilbur and Otis Whittle, her son Andre' Whittle and daughter Traci Whittle.

Little Mary is survived by her sons Anthony "Tony" Whittle, Eric "Michael" Whittle and Eddie Watts, Jr., daughters Sheena Whittle and Eddina "Dina" Watts (Ronnie Cook), grandchildren Ronika (L.C.), Ebony (Gerald), Khalil, Sanitra, Tony, Mikail, Amina, Mike-Mike, Jadea, Andre', Dreanna, Andrea, Andrea Lyn, Andrew, Deandre', Anton, Alisa, Eddia, Eddeja, Little Eddie and her grand-dog Solomon, 16 great-grandchildren, her beloved niece Nina Whittle and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
