Mary Elizabeth Hudson March 3, 1918 - May 19, 2014 Mary E. Hudson departed this life following a long illness. She was born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to Sharecropper, parents Jimmie and Inell Jones. Married to Billie Hudson, Sr. on December 28, 1940, moved to Newark, New Jersey in 1952 and to Newark, Delaware in 2004. She was faithful church member all of her life and attended church for as long as she was able. She was a founding member of the United Missionary Baptist Church, East Orange, New Jersey and attended Newark United Methodist Church in Newark, Delaware. Mary's greatest joy was shared time with her family of 6 children, Mary Louise, Billie, Jr./Barbara, Clarence/Carolyn, Vivian, Mamie, James/Linda; 8 grandchildren, Kelly, Lance, Michael, Courtney, Darrin, Radiah, Jamal, Hasaan and 20 great grandchildren, Lucy and countless adopted children that include two caregivers, Patsy Ball and Mary Newsome. She loved sewing, cooking, church attendance and family gatherings for food, fun, and fellowship that celebrated holidays and achievements and milestones. At every celebration Mary, provided a message of hope and life lesson based on Biblical Scripture.
