Age 90 in the early afternoon of December 3, 2005, the Almighty and Wise Father loving hands sealed her lips and her soul winged its flight peacefully from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest. "Mother Ruffin was born to the late Demus Morris and Ada Gatlin in Greenville, NC. She was the widow of the late Curtis Ruffin. She was a faithful chartered member of the Latter Day Baptist Church. She derived the most Spiritual joy in her Christian service asa member of the Usher Board. She was predeceased by a son, Alton Cogdell. She leaves to cherish many beautiful memories; 1 daughter, Darlene Gatlin; 2 sons, Leroy Hairston of Wilmington, DE; and Johnnie Greene (Joyce) of Richmond Hill, GA; 2 God daughters, Minnie Ebo and Vasht Baker-Fowlkes (Glenn); 6 grandchildren, Mark, Luke, Roland, Lelia, Dante(Melissa Gatlin) and Thirah Gatlin; 24 great grandchildren; 1 nephew, Samuel Greene; 1 niece, Eleanor Davis both of Greenville, NC; an supportive first cousin, Vinetta Hill of DE; a committed, attentive caregiver and great niece Joyce Green-Miles (Wayne) a host of other great nieces, great nephews; great-great nieces and great -great nephews; her extended family, the Flynn; children, her Church Family and many other relatives and friends.
