Ludell C. Downing (Gray) was born on June 12, 1944, in Johnsonville, South Carolina to Edward Eaddy and Bernice Tilghman. She passed on Saturday June 1, 2024 at home in Wilmington, Delaware.
Ludell received her early childhood education from Pyle Elementary and Bancroft Middle schools. She graduated from Howard High School. After school, she worked for Avon Products, USA Training Academy, and operated a daycare out of her home for many years (probably a lot of family and friends here today came to Mom one time or another.
Ludell was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She had many hobbies and interest: Sewing, shopping, cooking, reading the bible, regular puzzles, word search puzzles, adult coloring books, computer games, crime shows & old western movies, her lovely plants, gospel quartets and spending time
with the family.
Ludell is preceded in death by Freddie Lee Gray (Husband), Edward Eaddy (Father). Bernice Tilghman (Mother), Jamel Eaddy (half-brother), and Benisa Eaddy (half-sister).
Ludell is survived by Ruth (sister); Rosemarie, Eileen, Mary Alice (half-sisters); John, Ramey, Ronnie, Massah (half-brothers); children - Crystal (Lennie), Tracy (Kevin), Freddie Jr, and Kerry (Marjon); grandchildren – Sean, Sierra, Tyler, Freddie III, Brandon, Madison, Marion III, Derek, Gabrielle; great grandchildren – Zakier, Ramaj,
Genesis, Jeremiah, Milan, Messiah, Josiah, Skyler, Ryleigh and a host of relatives and friends.
