Lorette Benson came into the world on April 16, 1952, daughter of Tommy and Alice Dixon, Sr. On April 17, 2016, the Lord called her home on her 64th birthday.
Lorette was born in Milford Hospital, Milford, Delaware, and has been a Harrington resident since her birth. Lorette attended Harrington High School until the 10th grade. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Holiness Church as a young adult. Lorette had aspirations of joining the Army and traveling the world. In 1967 she gave birth to a baby boy. She was employed at Playtex, Kirby & Holloway for a number of years. After leaving the workforce she enjoyed baking with her great niece Tasia Smith, doing hair and yard sale-ling.
she was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Alice Dixon, Sr.; her sister Becky Perry and Salena Dixon-ross; her brother Tommy Dixon, Jr.; her uncle and aunt, Mickey and Catherine Jordan.
Lorette is survived by her son Lionel (Sherry) Dixon of Dover, DE; her grand-children, Jameek Matthews, Lonette Little, Alysha Jackson, Natasha McCove, Alisa Caldwell, Loroma Caldwell and Olivia McCove; 9 great-grandchildren; her brother Eugene (Pam) Dixon, her sisters: Karen (Richard) Jenkins, Terri (James) White, Debra Dixon and Surita (Johnny) Briggs; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great nephews.
