Lillie Mae Green Edwards known by Many as Ms. Boston, went peacefully to sleep at Wilmington Hospital on July 26, 2009 at the age of 75. She was born and raised in King William County, Virginia. Sister Edwards went to her rest surrounded by beloved family and friends. A favorite to many and adopting several names of affection, like "Granny" and "Momma Liddy." Sister Edwards dedicated her life to putting others first. She is well known for her unselfish giving. For thirty years, she practiced her stong faith as a Jehovah's Witness. "Lilamaze" is preceded in death by her father and mother, William Green and Blanche Braxton Green; husband, Roger W. Edwards; daughter, Wanda and a total of 10 brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughers, Catherine Robinson, Corrine Boston, Carolyn Fields and Lisa Hughes; three sons, Cornelius, Roger M. and Michael Edwards; 2 daughter-in-laws, Shelia and Sue Edwards; 1 son-in-law Daniel Fields; 1 sister, Georgia Johnson; 3 sister-in-laws; 3 brother-in-laws; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
