Leatrice Yvonne Thomas affectionately known as "Leatty" was born on March 29, 1954 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Eugene and Beatrice Thomas. She was called home on October 6, 2020 surrounded by loved ones at Kent General Bayhealth Hospital.

Leatrice received her childhood education in the Colonial School District. She graduated from De La Warr High School in 1972. She gave birth to her daughter "Lady" in 1978. Leatrice was employed with The News Journal, where she became employee of the month within six months of employment, SODAT Treatment Center and ended her career as a Senior Social Worker for the State of Delaware for whom she worked for many years.

Leatrice was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church in Smyrna, Delaware. Leatrice was a proud usher member and stewardess and took her service for the Lord seriously. She had no problem praising the Lord and made sure she entered His house with her praise. She loved to spend time with her daughters, playing cards with her nephew and traveling for church events. She was a proud mother, sister, aunt, cousin, mom mom and friend.

Leatrice is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Beatrice Thomas; brothers, Jerome (Gome), Tyrone and Bryan; sister Valerie Melton Swanson.

Leatrice leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter Leatrice "Lady" Thomas; adopted daughters Thawn Seth and Lena Ward; sisters LaJuan Webster and Ella Dupree (John); nephews Sharif Green (Fiance Donora Brown), Donta' Thomas, Ryare Melton, Dwanta' Thomas, Donta' Thomas Jr., Deamonta' Thomas, Amonta' Thomas; nieces Leah Wheeler, Crisshay Mills, Reason Green, Reonna Green, DontaJa' Thomas, Uneek Thomas, Eunayjah Thomas; two adopted grandchildren Brielle and Tyrone "Butter" Coleman; three Godchildren Shanika McNiel, Prince and Princeton Thomas and a host of cousins and friends.
