King Solomon Beavers, Sr.

December 24, 1964 — July 25, 2024

King Solomon Beavers, Sr. affectionately known as Beav, Slang, Zoom, and King Beav was born December 24th ,1964 in Brooklyn, New York to the late James & Emma Beavers and peacefully fell asleep at Seasons Hospice in Newark, DE on July 25, 2024 surrendered by his family & prayer warriors.

Beav was the youngest sibling to the late James “Junie” Beavers II, Evanita “Bonnie" Chandler, and Crystal Gibbs to which he took great pride in being the baby of the bunch and spoiled by Crystal sparing him from many punishments.

King received his early childhood education in Wilmington, Delaware, Mount Pleasant High School where he ran track, (thus the name Zoom was birthed) and graduated from James Groves. He earned several honors, certificates & accomplishments in adult programs & workshops.

Beav was a dedicated and hard worker including but not limited to working at the Longshoreman International AFL & Summa Fruit International at the Port of Wilmington for many years, Riverside Hospital, Darrel’s' Home Construction, Eli’s Home Improvements, House of Wright Mortuary, and his very own entrepreneurial business: WHATEVER MAN, which he took great pride in.

Beav met the love of his life, Tiehesha “Tee" Hunter in 1989, and joined hands in holy matrimony in 1995 thus, sharing 35 years together to which we were blessed with 3 wonderful sons, Raheem (Jazzmine), the late King Jr., and James III (Kym), and 3 precious grandchildren whom he adored, Zaleyah “Princess", Yuri “Dollbaby", and Elias.

Beav loved fashion and always dressed to impress, writing poetry, loved sporting ADIDAS, wearing fashion specs, shooting pool, fishing (which he proudly told everyone, his sister Donna taught him), loved to dance, play spades, tonk, & chess. He was a smooth basketball player who many wanted him on their team and a coach for the Stormin Norman Classic Summer League.

King was a man of great pride, who took life by the horns, and lived it to the fullest on his terms. He had a way of adapting in any environment through playful banter or friendly competition. Ranking, talking trash, and bussing it up in the park in Southbridge. He was stubborn, always felt the need to be right, and a very competitive sore loser.

Thanks be to GOD, King accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Oh what a reunion for him, King, Jr and grand mom, The late Elder Phyllis Coleman who fervently prayed and believed in her heart salvation would be King's portion.

King was proceeded in death by his father James Beavers Sr., brother James Jr., son King Jr., Aunt Pearl, cousins Darnell “Happ", Vernon & Thomas, Southbridge brothers & sisters Larry, Willie (York), Keith, Rich, Mark, Bandit, Lois, Vicky, and sadly many others.

King will be missed by many and leaves a legacy of love through his wife Tiehesha, whom he affectionately called “Poccum", sons Raheem (Jazzmine), James (Kym), his wonderful grandchildren who meant so much to him Zaleyah, Yuri, and Elias. His mother, Emma Williams, sisters, Evanita (Lamar), Crystal (Danny), Mother-in-Law, Bishop Annette Coleman Hunter, brother in law, J.R., sister in laws, Donna (Manny), Theresa (Ed) Godchildren, Lamera Jackson, Nakisha Hairston, Cedric Crosby, Anthony Lee, Jeremiah Coleman, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins Delbert “E.Q.” and the Money’s, Hackett's, Ball's, Wright’s, Brister's, Pinkston’s, Coleman's, Hunters, The Breakfast Club and many special friends from Southbridge and beyond.
