Kevin Burris, 61 of Smryna, DE transitioned this life on May 30, 2019 in the Christiana Hospital. He was born to the late Marshall and Arnita Fields on February 16, 1958 in Chesterville, MD. Kevin received his education in the Wilmington Public Schools. He worked in construction, laying pipes for many years before retiring from Worthy Brothers Construction. Kevin enjoyed playing spades, Ace's Duces and listening to music (The Isley Brothers, Frankie Beverly & Maze just to name a few). He also enjoyed his grandchildren, all of them.Little Landen lives at home with them. Kevin would state, "If Landen is happy, I'm happy". The one who Kevin would go to battle for was his wife, OMG! His best friend as he called her, Phil. Kevin was also very serious about his lawn. It was always the best on the block! As the patriarch of the family and the father of many, Kevin left a legacy that will live on for many years. As he leaves to cherish his memories: his wife for over 38 years Mrs. PhyllissBurris; his children: Gabriel Custis (Pebbles), Taryon Burris (Nakita), George Shaheen (Yolanda), Shamika Hall (Robert), Claude Forbes "Knowledge", Kwame & Adrianna Harmon, Tyrek Downing, Frankie, Jasper, Prince, TyTy, Joe and Billy; a god daughter Ke-Ke Jerry; siblings: Daryl Burris (Karen), Marsha Fields, Dwayne Fields (Stacey), Anthony Fields and Marshall Fields (Chris); 18 Grandchildren; 3 Great grandchildren; a favorite uncle Charles Ward "Chucky"; two very close nephews: Andre Queen & Norman Custis; three favorite nieces: Sharon Custis, Beatrice Custis and Marie Queen; and two favorite great nephews: Bruce Matthews and Keenan Custis and a host a family and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole R. Custis "Nicky".
