Keith D. Fisher

March 31, 1955 — December 18, 2024

Keith Darrell “Snooky” Fisher was born on March 31, 1955, to Margurite Fisher and Joseph S. Harris in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed this life on December 18, 2024, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Keith received his early education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware. He enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years, receiving an honorable discharge. He also attended Harris School for Nursing. Keith worked various jobs such as construction, landscaping, flagging, and painting. He was a jack of all trades.

Anyone who knew Snooky knew that he was a great loving family man. He was a caring father to his children, and truly loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other children he raised. Snooky loved and cherished his wife, Marcella, caring for her until her passing.

Keith’s favorite pastimes were hanging out on the corner of Eighth & Pine Streets with his oldest brother, Wayne. When their friends called out the name, “Fish” they both turned around to see to whom they were referring. It was usually Snooky who they were calling. He also hung out at the “Clubhouse” (1212) where he held meetings and fellowshipped with his associates whom he adored.

Keith was always known to be neat and well-dressed, a tradition of his male siblings. He also enjoyed getting on his daughter Nicky’s nerves, dancing, listening to music (Anthony Hamilton), and fishing. If you knew anything about Snooky, you knew what he really liked to do.

Keith was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, Delaware, where he sang in the male choir. Later in life, Keith relocated to Winston Salem, North Carolina, with his nephew Jeron Maynard Morgan, who served as his caregiver until his passing.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite Fisher and Joseph S. Harris; wife, Marcella Boyer Fisher; brothers, Ivan, Alden, Gregory, and Wayne Fisher, Wendell Harris, Joseph Cephas, Anthony, Arthur, and Claude Lamotte Wilford; brothers-in-law, C. Lawler, and Samuel Hall; and sisters, Betty Ann Mills, Vera Hutt, Wanda Wilford, and Carlis Wright.

Keith leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Stacey “Nicky” Gilbert (Ronnie), Delinta “Lonnie” White, Stephen “Tip” Johnson (Timika), Kewann Young, Keith Fisher Jr, and Danielle, and a father to Temika Wright (Dominique); sisters, Gloria Yvonne Fisher, Janet Earlene Bordley, Josephine Fisher Hall Janice Rogers, and Renee Dawkins; bonus sister, Stephanie “Step Up” Gardner; brother, Edward Righter (Charlene); sisters-in-law, Louise, Grace, and Nadine Fisher; grandchildren, Adriana, Azareha, Anthony, Jr, Shaenise, Jody, Jazmin, Samir, Joshua, Niza, Kewann Jr, Kesai, Tianna, and Kwa’Lee; a bonus grandson, King; great-grandchildren, Amaria, A’Nyla, Kash, Skilar, Masai, Ci’yana; two special friends, Denise ‘NuNu’ Congo, and Lawrence Flowers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
