Kathleen Marie Watson-Sembly

November 2, 1958 — October 17, 2022

Kathleen Marie Watson-Sembly was born on November 2, 1958 in Millington, Maryland to Helen E. Watson and the late James A. Fletcher. She was the third of five children. She went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2022.

Kathleen, affectionally known as Sissy or Kathy, moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 1970. She attended Mary C. I. Williams Elementary School then to Bayard Middle School and then off to Wilmington High School. While attending Wilmington High, Kathy was the captain of the majorettes. Kathy also played softball for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware Women's Softball Team for several years.

Kathy was employed by Wilmington Trust Company for over 15 years. For a year after that Kathy continued her education with some online courses. Kathy joined the staff of the State of Delaware in 2002 where she worked in the Family Court Department until retiring in 2019.

In 1995, Kathy married the love of her life Bob Sembly whom she met at Ambrosia - a local tavern Kathy would frequent with her softball team. Kathy and Bob moved to Dover in 2003 where they became active members of the Byrd AME Church in Clayton, Delaware. Kathy was a part of the Kitchen Ministry and the Usher Board for many years.

Kathy was a fantastic hostess. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home, especially in the 'BobKat'. She took pride in her plants both in and outside of her home. She enjoyed music and traveling with Bob and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father James A. Fletcher and her one and only brother Robert L. Watson.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 27 years Robert Sembly, her mother Helen E. Watson, her sons by marriage: Robert T. Sembly (Tracey) and Joshua M. Sembly of Seattle Washington, three sisters: Margaret A. Cain-Dorsey (Benjamin), Debra E. and Lisa D. Watson, brothers-in-law: Carl Jones, Jr. (Cheryl) and Cornel Jones (Jacqueline), sisters-in-law: Carol Samuels (Mario), Karen Williams (Eric) and Jacqueline Jones-Durham, and a host of relatives and many, many friends.
