Joyce L Flowers

Joyce L. Flowers, daughter of the late Winfred "Feet" Fontaine and Julia R. "Della" Woodland, was born on November 25, 1946 in Chester, Pennsylvania. She departed this life April 5, 2009 at home. Joyce attended Warner Middle School also P.S. DuPont High School. Joyce relocated to Delaware in 1957, with her loving and devoted cousins Jessie & Juanita Carter and their children (Jessie, Jr. Dwight, Larry, Joy and Patricia); later residing with her adopted parents, the late George Walker, Sr. and Erma "MOM" Walker and their children (George, Jr., Charles, Phillip, Evelyn and Kenneth). She happily retired from the City of Wilmington with over 25 years of service. She was also a proud member of Mother AUFCMP Church. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya R., husband Ernest N. Flowers, her brother Wendell T. Woodland, Sr. her nephew Jamil Woodland and a devoted cousin Darryl Carter. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Crystal M. Flowers and Karen "Butter" Flowers (Bryon); her only adopted son Chelsey Bremby, 3 grandchildren, Arce'Vis Sr., Jakerra and Jaquetta Flowers; 2 great-grandchildren Amari and Arce'Vis Flowers, Jr. Joyce also leaves to cherish her memory her devoted nieces which she raised as her daughters, Rolanda and Alexis Butler; 1 step-brother, Leroy Welcher of Jersey City, NJ; 4 nephews, Keith, Stephen, Brian and Wendell, Jr.; 2 nieces, Kearra & Dawn Woodland all of Chester, PA; 3 Aunts, Sara White of Chester, PA; Ellen Gardner, and Annamae French of Wilmington, DE; her "MOM", Erma Walker, 6 sisters, Lucille Bowden, Sylvia Austin, RuthAnn Johnson, Evelyn Walker, Nancy, Sylvia & Linda Flowers; 5 sister-in-laws, Brenda, Doris, Roslyn, Annette and Christine Flowers; 3 brother-in-laws Walter, Mendelakhan and Collier; a devoted and loyal friend Erma "Joxie" Cunningham; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
