Joseph E. "Boss" Brown, Jr.

October 27, 1980 — December 12, 2022

On Monday, December 12, 2022, Joseph Edward Brown Jr., known by so many as Boss of

Townsend, Delaware passed away at the age of 42.

Joseph (Boss) was born on October 27, 1980, in Wilmington, Del to father Joseph Brown Sr and

mother Kathryn Warren. Boss spent his childhood years as an avid baseball player alongside

his big sister Tasha with MOT little league. By middle school, Boss was a full-time hustler selling

candy from his backpack to his classmates. He spent most of his days stuck in the house with

his baby sister Heather, but one call to mom (even on punishment) and he was on his way to

hang with his “boys” who later called themselves “T-Town”. Boss graduated from Delcastle

Technical High School with a major in plumbing. Which definitely came in handy around the

house.

As an adult, He wore many hats. He worked as a forklift operator in a few different warehouses.

His favorite job was as a local D.J. known as D.J. Boss. Boss took pride in his work in the

kitchen. He called himself the “Bando Baker” and would post cooking videos on Facebook with

his how-to's (which were pretty funny). He later became the caregiver of his father.

Boss was a family man and spent a lot of time with his parents and siblings. His true best friend

and partner in crime is his mother “Babe”. They spent a lot of mornings having tea time on the

porch and vacationing together in Rehoboth Beach. He was very close with his father Joseph.

You never know where you would see the two of them driving. Boss and Tasha could be

seen together enjoying a couple of beers and a dozen or so crabs. They shared a love for the

beach and definitely enjoyed going together. Heather, the baby, as her family calls her, had

spent a lot of time with Boss growing up. He showed her how to play Mario Bros, taught her all

about WWF and wrestling, and all the words to his favorite movie “Blood in, Blood out”. There

was nothing he took more pride in than being a father to his daughter Mya. He was so proud of

her, and all that she has accomplished and loved her to the ends of the earth.

Boss was the type of person whose presence demanded attention in a room. He had a

smile that was full of light and a laugh that was contagious. You couldn’t help but laugh with

him. It was rare that you would catch Boss without a smile and he just wanted to share the joy with

everyone that knew him. He was always the life of the party and made sure every time with him

was a good time. Music was a passion of his, he would find a song to reminisce to, to lighten a

mood, to rap to, and to just vibe out to. Boss was a big sports fan, always shouting out the

Eagles or the Phillies during their seasons. His heart was big, his love was loud, and if you knew

him, you felt that with every interaction. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off

his back or the size 7 and 7/8th hat on his head. Boss was a lover of life and found joy in every

day. He will never be forgotten but forever be remembered by everyone that knew him.

Boss is survived by his Father Joseph Brown Sr., Mother Kathyrn “Babe” Warren, Sisters Tasha

Brown and Heather Moore (Ryatt), Brother (from another) Douglas Campbell, Daughter Mya

Brown, Nephew Jaxen Moore and Niece (on the way) Avery Moore, Aunt Virginia “Sis” Meade

along with a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. Boss is preceded in death by his stepfather

William E. Warren.
