Jessie Ruth Napier

Jessie R. (Clement) Price Napier was born in Beckley, West Virginia to Hattie (Clement) Land and Jesse Mallory on December 21, 1937. She grew up in Fayetteville, WV with her grandparents, Rev. William Clement and Bernice Clement and graduated from DuBois High School in 1956. In 1955 she married her childhood sweetheart, Nathaniel M. Price of Madison, WV. From their union, there were 8 children; Lloyd, Steven, Robin, Thurmond, Rohn, Dohn, Daretta and Nathan. After becoming widowed, Jessie married Mr. Owen Napier, Sr. of Wilmington, DE and moved to Bedford, VA where they lived for nearly 15 years until they both relocated to Delaware after becoming ill. Jessie was well known for her work in the Ministry as an Evangelist of the Gospel. She was ordained in the Church of God In Christ of Delaware and the Church of God Ministries of Virginia. Before her illness, she Pastored Leesville Temple Church of God in Leesville, VA. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Nathaniel M. Price and sons, Lloyd M. Price, Sr. and Thurmond W. Price, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Owen Napier, Sr.; 6 children, Steven, Robin, Rohn, Dohn, Daretta and Nathan; 2 step-children, Stephanie and Owen, Jr; step-father, Melvin Land (Ellen); brother, Carroll Scruggs; sisters, Shirley Byrd and Betty Whitfield (Richard); 2 sister-in-laws; 100 grand and great-grand children and a host of other relatives and friends and a devoted and loving grand-daughter, Nakki A.
