Jashown Banner-Wisher

January 13, 2011 — June 1, 2024

JaShown Isaiah Banner-Wisher entered eternal rest on June 1, 2024 at the tender age of 13 years old in Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. JaShown was born on January 13, 2011 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE to Shaylynn Wedderburn (Banner) and Joshua Potts. JaShown was educated in public schools of Wilmington, DE. He graduated kindergarten in 2017 from Thomas Edison Charter School, which he didn't attend due to being shot. Aftere JaShown's partial recuperation he returned to school attending John G. Leach School in New Castle for children with disabilities, where he  became proficient with computers to communicate with his loved ones.


JaShown affectively known as Butt Butt or Butt was a very happy, active and vivacious child. His energy and smile were unmatched. He put a smile on everyone's face he had the pleasure of meeting. Butt Butt loved Spiderman with a passion. His favorite show to watch was Henry Danger. He also loved his family & enjoyed hanging with them. If you knew Butt you knew he loved himself some chicken. He enjoyed going fishing. He loved watching his sister Jo Jo & cousins dance in competitions.


JaShown was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmothers Bettie Jones & Hessie Queen; his maternal great- grandfather, Ernestine Wade Banner; paternal great grandparents, Faye Taylor, William and Ruth Potts; and his cousin, Jeffery Corbin. 


JaShown leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Shaylynn Wedderburn (Patrick); his father, Joshua Potts; his bonus father, Paul Jihad Hackett; his siblings, Briyana Banner (Strlyng), Ji’Air Banner, Joslynn Potts,  Jordin Hackett, Sahmeer Banner Hackett, Tierra Potts (Malik), Aiyana Webster (TreShawn);  his maternal grandparents, Deborah Banner & Jake Jones; his paternal grandparents, Faith, and Willie Kelley, Sr. and Gregory Bullock(Stephanie); his favorite aunt/second mom Daylynn Banner; his aunts Tarafae Potts (Sean), Larisha Banner and Sonja Amos (Charles); uncles, Willie Kelley, Jr. or Woo Woo (as he called him), Terrell Kelley,  Jake Jones, III, Kevin & Verzell Banner; his nephews, Strlyng & Kaiden Seeney, Benson & Keonix Lawler; as well as god brothers, god sisters, a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins.
