Janice A. Phipps

Janice A. Phipps, age 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 9,

2023, with her loving daughters by her side.

Born on January 16, 1945, Janice was the eldest child of the late Linwood and

Clara Boyer. She lived in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania for many years of her life

before moving to Newark, Delaware in 2006 to be closer to her daughters and

grandchildren.

Janice was a 1962 graduate of Unionville High School and went on to work as an

administrative assistant for DuPont for over 25 years. After her retirement in 1992,

Janice worked as a librarian, pharmacy technician, and then found a calling that

always came naturally to her; she became a caregiver. Not only did she care for

members of her family, but also for several other families that she loved as her

own. Janice was known for her warm and caring heart, and that uncanny ability to

make those around her feel welcomed and loved. Her family was her greatest joy,

and any mention of her grandchildren would put the biggest smile on her face.

She will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Linwood and Clara Boyer, and

brother, Michael Boyer, Sr.

Janice is survived by her husband, Clifton Phipps, and two daughters, Tysha

Hackett and her husband Monte’, and Candace Geipel and her husband Rob; her

cherished grandchildren, Cianna, Kendra, Demario, and Brycen; her siblings,

Richard Boyer, Sharon Scott, Terrance Boyer, Jocelyn Proctor, Charmaine Crawford,

and Charlene Lee; her aunt, Joyce Dennison, and many nieces, nephews, and

cousins.
