James McDaniel

James I. McDaniel, better known as “Jimmy” was born on February 2, 1952 in Chester, PA to the late Lewis & Thelma McDaniel. He passed unexpectedly on November 7, 2024.

Jimmy, as he was affectionally known, was educated in the Delaware County School District, ultimately being amongst the first class of African American students to graduate from Springfield High School. Prior to graduating, he met his soon to be wife, Linda. Shortly thereafter, the two started a family and out of that union two children were born. Upon moving the family to Swedesboro, NJ he began employment at Freightliner Truck Distribution Center where he later became Operations Manager. After leaving Freightliner he worked for XPO Logistics until he decided to retire. Jimmy later worked as a retiree for Logan Township, serving his community and cultivating friendships that he held until his passing.

Jimmy had a zest for life, love of family, and fishing. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his loving wife, Linda…Son James and daughter in law Rahsheen…his daughter Jayme…grandchildren, Jaylen and Jade…sister, Patricia…brother-in-law Edward…sister-in-Marva…and a host of relatives and friends who adored him.

Jimmy was a man of high character, humility, and wisdom who took pride in everything he did. He will be missed immensely.
